Industrious, the highest-rated flexible workplace company, today announced it has partnered with Atlantic South Development Inc. (ASD) to open a new workspace in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina. The space is the company’s first location in Charleston and will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in partnership with the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. Industrious will open the doors to the community to tour and experience the space from 1-4:30pm EST on 2/22.

King Street is one of the most architecturally significant streets in downtown Charleston with a 300-year history. Its mixed-use, three story brick and stucco buildings host some of the city’s trendiest restaurants, hotels, art galleries, flourishing businesses and lively nightlife.

“With our first Charleston location at 677 King Street, we are entering a market we’ve been eyeing for a long time,” said Peri Demestihas, Senior Director of Real Estate at Industrious. “This beautiful new development offers the best of all worlds from a location perspective, with a famous King Street address and easy access to anywhere in Charleston proper. We’re grateful to Atlantic South for providing us the opportunity to give the thriving community of Charleston a new home base for an unmatched premium flex experience.”

Industrious Charleston will become a landmark site as the first building to be seen when driving in on I-26. The location has easy access to major highways and plenty of walkable amenities including restaurants, coffee shops, fitness gyms and parks. Industrious Charleston will span across 34,028 square feet and host 472 desks.

“We are excited to have Industrious as our partner and lead tenant in our first premier office building in Charleston,” said Mitch Norville, Owner of Atlantic South Development Inc. “As developers and owners of quality real estate, we are pleased that we have found a partner that shares our long-term strategy and commitment to a premium product and service. We are firm believers in the flexible work environment, and we think it will have an increasingly crucial impact on the Charleston market.”

Industrious is committed to building a robust network of premium office locations across city and suburban markets to support modern workplace preferences. This model fosters the ability of choice, allowing employees the option to commute for the big meeting or work at a smaller satellite location closer to home or their children’s school.

Rather than signing traditional leases with landlords, Industrious utilizes partnership agreements — a unique business model in the commercial real estate industry. Under this model, landlords are better positioned to meet the demands of modern occupiers, while Industrious is rewarded for strong performance. Industrious’ national network includes flexible workspaces in more than 60 U.S. markets and provides members with productive and engaging workplaces for companies of all sizes and stages.
