Actual property group acknowledges McWhinney for DEI – Loveland Reporter-Herald

NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association has recognized Loveland and Denver developer McWhinney Real Estate Services Inc. for its focus on advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.

The award came at NAIOP’s Colorado Awards of Achievement.

McWhinney formed a diversity, equity and inclusion committee in 2020 to help guide the company toward a more diverse workplace. Efforts have included donations to community organizations and universities, internal diversity training, employee culture engagement events and community engagement initiatives.

Among its projects has been serving as mentor and coach to students; donations to the University of Colorado Boulder’s Changing the Face of Real Estate Scholarship Fund; hosting students from Metropolitan State University, CU Denver, CU Boulder and Colorado State University; establishing Juneteenth as a company holiday; supporting Disability Pride Month and more.

“This award is an honor for our company and for all of our associates who have worked hard to honor diversity and ensure our offices provide inclusive workplaces,” Chad McWhinney, CEO, chairman, and co-founder at McWhinney said in a written statement. “Our DEI commitment of being united is a core business principle, and this recognition is extremely meaningful as we continue to work alongside community partners to help remove barriers of business and access for all, especially within the real estate industry.”
